Hi there!
.A little backstory about myself, I was born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York. Growing up, anything that was beauty related fascinated me. Whether it was hair, makeup, skin care, nails, fashion - you name it, I loved it.
When it came time for me to decide what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, hair was not my first option. I enrolled in college and quickly discovered that wasn’t the path for me. It was then that my mom told me “you have a talent with beauty, use it to your advantage.” That’s when I decided to enroll in cosmetology school. However, during this time, it was the beginning of Covid and New York was actually shut down, to the point I couldn’t even enroll in cosmetology school. I did all the research I needed to do in order to discover that Parisian Beauty Academy: A Paul Mitchell Partner School in Hackensack New Jersey was the best option for me. With the school being in New Jersey, this meant I had an hour and a half drive there and back every single day for a year and a half. Although the commute was tough, I powered through it. I ended up graduating the top of my class and also got the opportunity to go out to LA with my school for a Paul Mitchell Fundraiser. I landed my first Behind the Chair job before even graduating cosmetology school. At this salon, I was a jack of all trades and did everything you could imagine. Blondes, Brunettes, Lived in, Dimensional colors, Balayage, Keratin Treatments, Extensions, Bridal/Prom Hair, Professional Makeup, social media marketing, reception, you name it - I did it. It was here that I quickly discovered my love for blondes and extensions.
When deciding where my spouse and I wanted to settle down, with him being from Chicago, and myself being from New York, we both knew the cold was not somewhere we wanted to be. That’s when we made the decision to make Sarasota Florida our new home. Shortly after moving and settling down, we welcomed our son. With our son being born I knew I wanted to take a step back from the hair world and focus on spending time with my family. After being home with my son for a year, I felt the urge to get back into hair and give people the confidence they deserved.
When making the decision to get back to work, I worked at a luxury, high-end, salon in Lakewood Ranch Florida for a little bit and while working here I learned more in the few months here than I did in my whole hair career. Being surrounded with the incredible women I was able to work alongside motivated me and put fuel to the fire when it came to my drive and dedication in the hair industry. It made me realize how much I actually wanted for myself in this industry. It showed me how much I wanted to build a name for myself, build a brand, build an empire.
